About us
Being understood shouldn't take three tries.
Levay is an AI friend for people who already speak English, but aren't always understood the first time.
Why we're building it
Plenty of apps teach English. Very few help with the moment it doesn't land: a word heard wrong on a work call, in a meeting, or at the pharmacy, and the “sorry, what?” that follows.
Usually it isn't grammar or vocabulary. It's a handful of sounds, and they can be fixed. What it takes is practice in real conversation, and someone who notices exactly which word didn't land. So we built a friend that calls you every day, listens for those words, and brings them back until they're clear.
What makes it different
A friend, not a course.
Talk about your life
You practise inside real conversations about your work, your people and your week. No textbook, no drills on the call.
Ready for what's coming
Levay remembers your plans. Before a job interview it calls to warm you up, then after to hear how it went.
See what they actually heard
A heard-as card shows what the listener heard, the sound behind it, and one plain tip to fix it.
App visuals: concept, example data
What we believe
Clear beats accent-free.
Your accent is part of you. The goal is being understood the first time, not sounding like someone else.
Practice belongs in real conversation.
Words stick when you use them to talk about your own life, not when you repeat them from a list.
Your voice is yours.
We record only to coach you. We never sell your data, and AI providers don't train on your voice.

Joseph
CEO & Co-founder
Hi, I’m Joseph, a first-year student at the University of Toronto and co-founder of Levay. I’m fascinated by the science of why we get nervous. I wrote “Why We Freeze,” a research paper drawing on 47 sources that explains how stress changes your voice and blocks words you already know. That research is the foundation of everything Levay does.
Where we are
Levay is built in Canada and is in early access. We're letting people in from the waitlist in small groups, so every call gets better before the next group joins.
